The Indian hockey team brought pride to the nation by winning a bronze medal after defeating Spain in the Paris Olympics. After 52 long years, a new history was etched, and now India has secured two back-to-back medals in the Olympics.
India’s hockey team performed impressively at the Paris 2024 Olympics, defeating Spain with a 2-1 margin to win the bronze medal. This can be termed a remarkable win, as the Indian hockey team last won a medal in 1972.
Following this historic victory, prize money has been announced for the team. Notably, the Odisha government had already declared a reward, which was further supported by the Madhya Pradesh government.
A reward of Rs 1 crore has been announced by Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for Vivek Sagar Prasad.
India made history as Team India won a bronze medal in the Olympics for the second consecutive time, a feat achieved after 52 years. Financial rewards have started flowing in, celebrating this achievement.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will award Rs 1 crore to Vivek Sagar Prasad, a player from Madhya Pradesh, and he congratulated Vivek through a video call.
He tweeted, “In a video call, I greeted our Madhya Pradesh’s pride, Shri Vivek Sagar Prasad Ji, a bronze medalist and Indian hockey player in the Paris Olympics. Vivek will be awarded Rs 1 crore by the government of Madhya Pradesh.”
Additionally, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced prize money for the hockey team, their coach, and the assistant coach.
He declared a reward of Rs 4 crore for Amit Rohidas, a defender in the Indian team. It was also announced that each of the remaining players on the team will receive Rs 15 lakh, and the support staff will be given Rs 10 lakh.
