The much-anticipated film Bad Newz, starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, has been making waves since the release of its song “Tauba Tauba.” The film, which hit theaters on Friday, saw impressive attendance on its opening day.
Adding to the excitement, Bad Newz features special cameos by actresses Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma.
The film’s makers organized a special screening on Thursday night for members of the film fraternity. The event was attended by the cast, crew, and Vicky Kaushal’s family, including his wife, actress Katrina Kaif, who came to show her support.
Bad Newz is being hailed as Vicky Kaushal’s biggest opener to date, surpassing his previous hit Uri: The Surgical Strike, which made Rs 8.20 crore on its opening day. With positive word-of-mouth reviews, the film’s numbers are expected to grow over the weekend, making it the fifth highest opening film of the year so far.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, Bad Newz is seen as a successor to the 2019 hit Good Newwz, which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh. This new film takes a comedic twist on the rom-com genre, delving into the chaotic world of heteropaternal superfecundation—a scenario involving two fathers, one mother, and one baby on the way.
Bad Newz is co-produced by Anand Tiwari, Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra. The film also stars Neha Dhupia in a notable role.
With its unique storyline and star-studded cast, Bad Newz promises to be a standout comedy drama of the year.
