Susan Wojcicki, who grew up on the Stanford campus and later graduated with honors from Harvard University, initially pursued a career in academia before discovering her passion for technology, which led her to earn an MBA from UCLA and ultimately change her professional path.

Susan was born to Esther Woncicki an American Journalist and Stanley Wojcicki a Polish Physics professor at Stanford University. She married to Dennis Troper director of product management at Google. The couple had five children.

In addition to her American citizenship, Wojcicki held Polish citizenship through her father.

Career

Susan Wojcicki, started career as Marketing Manager at Intel Corporation in Santa Clara, Claifornia and was a management consultant at Bain & Company and at R.B. Webber & Company.

After the she joined the Google in September 1998 as 16 employee of Google where she initial work for viral marketing programs and aids to spreahead the first Google Doodles. She also co-developed and launched Google Iage Search.

Susan became the CEO of Youtube in February 2014 and was named as most important person in advertising, While CEO, the company developed 10 forms of monetization for YouTube creators, including channel memberships, merchandise, BrandConnect, and paid digital goods like Super Chat.

On February 16, 2023, Wojcicki announced her resignation from YouTube via a company blog post. She said she wanted to focus on “family, health, and personal projects” but would be taking on an advisory role across Google and its parent company Alphabet.

Recently on 9 August 2024 Susan Wojcicki passes away at the age of 56, she was battling with non-small cell lung cancer for two years.
