The launch was announced on August 1st through a video on Fnatic’s social media channels, featuring several team members highlighting the service’s benefits. Founder and CEO Sam Matthews shared his excitement on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “We’ve been working on this all year, and we really want to use it to build around our fans even more. Supporting us means a lot, and this will help build a stronger team for all of us to watch.”

This new initiative follows Fnatic’s 2022 partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com, which introduced a blockchain-based membership program. Although most tier perks from the previous program have been integrated into Fnatic Plus, Pioneer and Core members will retain their Discord roles and badges, with Pioneer key holders continuing to receive a custom jersey annually.

The launch of Fnatic Plus coincides with the organisation’s 20th anniversary. While renowned for its achievements in League of Legends, VALORANT, and Counter-Strike, Fnatic has recently expanded into titles such as Overwatch 2, Tekken, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

The organisation has also forged partnerships with companies like furniture manufacturer Steelcase, instant food brand Pot Noodle, and online cryptocurrency casino Betify, further solidifying its presence in the esports industry.
